About the consortium
A national network for resource sharing, modern library standards and the professional growth of librarians.
Who we are
The Consortium of Science & Technology and Research & Development Libraries of Pakistan (CSTRDLP) promotes resource sharing among libraries by upgrading library standards and building the capacity of librarians, in order to support the scientific research community.
For its members the consortium has built a digital repository of indigenous S&T material and a union online catalogue (PakCat) of books held in Pakistani libraries.
It was developed under the PSDP project “Modernization of PASTIC National Science Reference Library for Effective Resource Sharing among S&T Libraries in Pakistan”, executed by the Pakistan Scientific and Technological Information Centre (PASTIC), Islamabad.
Our purpose
CSTRDLP connects the country’s science, technology and R&D libraries into one cooperative network, so no institution works in isolation and every researcher can reach a wider pool of knowledge.
- Develop secondary resources, including a digital repository of indigenous literature
- Create a union online catalogue (Union OPAC) of books and monographs
- Compile a union list of the international scientific databases subscribed to by Pakistan’s S&T and R&D organisations
